God's Plan is Hidden

GOD’S PLAN IS HIDDEN

1. Definition

Only a portion of the divine decree has been revealed.

2. Documentation:

Deuteronomy 29:29

The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law.

1 Corinthians 13:9–12

9] For we know in part and we prophesy in part;

10], but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.

11] When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.

12] For now, we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.

3.  Meditation

I should not feel bad when I say, “I do not know.”  One day, all things will be revealed.

The Old Testament saints had partial knowledge.  They didn’t have the New Testament.  New Testament saints have partial knowledge.  We do not have heaven’s full perspective.  One day, all our questions will be answered.

4.   The Drill: Discipline yourself to Godliness

Trouble has a way of unsettling us. Life, at times, looks out of control. Sometimes, I find myself confused and perplexed. If so, take these actions:

1st: By Claiming the promises

I turn to God. I bring Him into the picture by claiming the promise in Romans 8:28. From that promise, I recognize that God is at work. God has a plan, and all this confusion in my life and circumstances relates to that plan.

2nd: By Concentrating on the rationale

My perspective at any moment is partial and incomplete; even with the Bible, I see in a mirror dimly. The Bible contains true truth, but it is not complete. The Bible has everything I need to know to live a life that pleases and glorifies God, but it does not contain all I will one day know.

I see my Lord in every book of the Bible, but one day, we will be face to face.
