Recap: The average swordfish (about 9.8 feet long or 3 meters) is about the size of three children of your age. Can you use a material from your house to see how long a swordfish is? The children in the picture below used legos, but you can use just about anything.

If you want a challenge, count up the number of materials it took (How many legos? How many stuffed animals?).

Afterwards, can you count how many hands or feet it takes to measure a swordfish?

Your friend, Jacob, created this beautiful ocean in a bottle.

Below we have some friends celebrating Blue & Gray Day last week. Cloe did a wonderful job supporting the Gray Team by playing some Wiffle Ball with her family. Jacob took advantage of the windy day and went to fly a kite on a beach with his Uncle Nelson, and Denzel happened upon a beautiful message of love stump while on a hike, supporting the Blue Team, of course! We hope you all had a wonderful day, and were able to work in some Blue & Gray Day fun along the way!

Deep Sea Creature Feature Submersible Field Trip

Mrs. Hemingway's niece, Annick, who worked in Roatan, Honduras as a submersible videographer, has offered to take us on a daily virtual field trip to see the magical creatures of the deep sea.

We hope you enjoy today's amazing video of what she calls a "Deep Sea Tableau" at 1300 ft.

She writes, "An orange roughy and squat lobster; sea snakes wrapped around deep sea coral."

This is the second day we have seen the squat lobster. Do you think it likes to photobomb?

Collaborative Nature Number Line

The first challenge is to create the number 9 using natural materials.

The second challenge is to find a group of 9 things in nature.

If you'd like, you can even write the word "NINE" using natural materials.

Random Acts of Kindness

Mrs. Peckham was surprised to find this post card from Sophie in her mailbox last week. Thank you for thinking of all of us, Sophie! We love you and miss you too! (And did you know that Mrs. Peckham was on the Blue Team?)

I Spy "Messages of Love"

We hope you like this message of love sent by the ocean.

Until tomorrow,

Sending love from Mrs. Hemingway, Mrs. Peckham, and Mrs. Davis
