Good Morning Farmhouse family! Welcome to Day 6! It's the first day of our second virtual week.

Here's what is on the docket for today:

Video and Journalling Invitation

Please visit https://explore.org/livecams/bald-eagles/decorah-eagles-north-nest to head to the top of a tree to see the webcam in Decorah, Iowa that overlooks a bald eagle nest high in a white oak tree in a secluded valley north of Decorah.

Liam found a family stump with the dad being what Liam is standing on, and he said, "All those branches are all his family." Maya was busy drawing a tree family. Rose found a cozy tree and shared that, "The moss is so soft and beautiful." Do you even spy a message of love in the center of the moss?

Ms. Ross-Cory wrote us a message: "I wanted to share a connection I had with Jacob's video. I loved his exploration of trees, but I also noticed the loud vehicle noises. Jacob and I live on the same street. I have noticed how heavy the truck traffic has been on our usually quiet street. At first, it felt like noise pollution invading my usual sit spots. Then I became so thankful because I noticed they were delivery trucks, which meant people were staying safe at home and having their groceries, etc delivered instead." Great point, Ms. Ross-Cory, and thank you for sharing! Can you think of any more helpers who are working hard to keep us all safe?

“See these white veins! It’s an underground telephone system for these guys [trees] to talk with their friend." Jacob

“See if the bark is peeling off. This tree is dead.”

Rose says, "This is the big wide world! I am in it!!"

And remembering what we shared about the trees sending sugar through their internet, "Look, the trees are touching and sharing candy!"

Ari uses the human internet to stay connected to our learning.

Be on the lookout for an email containing a video from our first guest reader, Charlotte's brother and Farmhouse alum, Logan!

Random Acts of Kindness

We kickstart our week with two heartfelt acts of kindness that will be sure to inspire us all. Remember what we always talk about friends - that kindness is contagious! Pass it on!

Ari writes a note to his friend and neighbor who is an ER doctor in Providence:

"Dear Sam, I love you Sam so much. I hope you don't get a virus. My heart will break until I see you again. I hope to see you soon. Love, Ari"

Ari beautifully articulates and illustrates what we are sure we are all feeling about those we love, particularly our helpers.

Who might you create a note for today?

Reading Ari's moving note, and knowing that this time may include, for both both children and adults, different layers of anxiety, we thought we would include a video in our tree series that spoke to fear in a light way, but that could be used as a catalyst for a deeper conversation if you ever felt it necessary.

Maya and her brother, Abe, spent some time donating food to Westport. More information can be found here if others would like to give: https://www.facebook.com/1870213416590982/posts/2581612688784381/?sfnsn=mo&extid=VLJktUhbfCxCrp54

I Spy "Messages of Love"

Messages of love are all around us! Great find, Jacob! And here's two good friends cuddling up in a message of love branch frame (picture courtesy of another local Early Childhood teacher.) Cloe, we are amazed that you spied that subtle message on the concrete! Can you spy it too, friends?

Until tomorrow,

Sending love from Mrs. Hemingway, Mrs. Peckham, and Mrs. Davis
