Links Scholarship
2023 SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA
To be considered an applicant for a scholarship from the Long Island Chapter, The Links, Incorporated, students must meet the following criteria:
1. Be African American, Afro-Caribbean, or of African descent
Be a resident of the areas served by the Long Island Chapter, The Links, Incorporated. Those areas include Nassau, Suffolk, and Queens Counties
Be a high school senior
Have applied or plan to apply to enroll at an accredited college
Demonstrate academic capacity, good citizenship, and participation in school and community activities.
Demonstrate some level of need for scholarship assistance.
Each student will be considered based on completion of the Long Island Chapter, The Links, Incorporated Scholarship Application with the following attachments:
a) Copy of high school transcript
b) Personal essay (in Calibri and 11-point font between 150-300 words)
c) Two letters of recommendation. Both recommendation letters must be on official stationery/letterhead and should be no longer than one page
i. One must be from a guidance counselor or current teacher
ii. The other recommendation letter can come from other school personnel or a community organization representative.
Only applications that are complete will be considered.
Only complete applications uploaded by April 15, 2023, will be considered.
