Kindergarten

Number Concepts

Kindergarten students work towards counting to 100 by ones and tens. Students learn to count forward beginning from any number without having to begin at one. Children also write numbers 0 to 20 and represent a number of objects with a written numeral. Students also work with teen numbers (11-19) to compose and decompose numbers into tens and some ones by using objects or drawings. For example, 18= 10 + 8.
