Mission Statement

Through our comprehensive developmental school counseling program, students will acquire skills addressing their academic, personal/social, and career/technical development. Our goal is for students to develop self-awareness of their abilities and interests in order to explore secondary options and career pathways. Our department is committed to supporting a safe and conducive learning environment.

About Our Department

The three disciplines of School Counseling, Social Work, and Psychology all work in concert to achieve the goals of the Framingham Public Schools. Counselors, social workers and psychologists not only work in consultation with one another, but also work collaboratively with families, school staff and community agencies to provide a coordinated approach to identifying and addressing student needs and academic achievement. As a team, they are historians and advocates for student-centered decisions. Their goal is to promote the achievement and development of all students.

Many of our counselors, social workers, and psychologists are bilingual and provide native language support  and assessment services to our Spanish and Portuguese-speaking population as well as to other bilingual students.
