When Jon Favreau’s The Lion King was released in 2019, it represented a number of significant landmarks in visual effects. Not only was there a large virtual production side to how it was envisioned, the film also relied almost completely on photo-real CG characters and environments crafted by MPC Film (only a single opening shot was live-action).
Framestore delivered high-quality VFX work for Apple’s See - an Apple Original series starring Jason Momoa and Alfre Woodard (12 Years a Slave, Luke Cage) that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world in which a virus has wiped out humans’ ability to see.
Our VFX work can be seen in over 100 shots in sequences throughout six of the series’ eight episodes, having delivered a wide range of work including creature work on a CGI spider, FX water and fire and the creation and replacement of several sprawling complex environments. (2020)

Now 25 years old, the Coen brothers’ The Hudsucker Proxy was one of those ’90s films that featured exquisite miniature buildings, carefully planned motion control photography, and meticulous digital compositing.
Drawing from the work of production designer Dennis Gassner and cinematographer Roger Deakins, the visual effects team crafted a raft of ‘mythical’ New York-type landscape shots that featured heavily in the story, not least of which was for a number of scenes of characters leaping and falling down the buildings’ long façades.
