Wow! 2024-25 has been a wonderful year in our school! It has been a privilege to see how well our children have progressed. They have grown in so many ways and we are all very proud of what they have achieved this year.
As you will know, our school has a very dedicated staff team who are passionate, hard working and nurturing. Once again this year, our staff have all gone above and beyond every day to make sure every child in our school has the best possible start to their learning journey - filled with so many exciting and engaging experiences. I cannot thank them enough for all their efforts and support.
Equally, the support that we have had from our parents and families throughout the past year has also made a huge difference to what we do here at FPIS. Thank you all! We are really very fortunate to be part of such a fantastic community and very much value our partnerships with parents. I would also like to thank our parents and families for the many lovely words, cards and gifts that we have all received as the year has drawn to a close. We have been totally overwhelmed by your generousity and kindness. A very BIG thank you to you all on behalf of the whole staff team :)
Over the last few weeks, we have celebrated the end of our academic year with some wonderful events in school...
Our Year 1 Excellent Ending event was a real showcase for the children's learning this term. The children performed a selection of songs that literally took us all together on an adventure around the world! It was great that so many parents and family members were to be able to join us to see and hear all about the things the children had been doing as they proudly shared their project scrapbooks afterwards too. The children's excitement and passion to share their learning was overhwhelming and a real joy to see! My thanks once more to our fabulous Year 1 team who did such a brilliant job with planning and organising the event.
In Year 2, The Bee Musical has been creatng a real buzz across the school for the past few weeks as the children in Hazel, Holly and Willow began preparing for their End Of Year Performance. It was evident from all the smiles, energy and enthusiam that filled the school hall on Thursday and Friday last week, that the children thoroughly enjoyed putting on the show for their parents, family and friends. Their confidence was wonderful to see and it was so impressive that everyone had learnt their lines, dance moves, actions and song lyrics so well! Well done Year 2's - it was BEE-RILLIANT! I would like to thank once again our brilliant Year 2 team for all their hard work and creativity putting the production together - and an extra special mention and thank you to the very talented Mrs Hayward, who as ever did such an amazing job with props and costumes.
As we wish our Hazel, Holly and Willow Class children farewell as they end their journey here at the Infant School, we send them on their way with our very best wishes for the next steps in their FPPF journey at FPJS. We are incredibly proud of you all and look forward to hearing about your new adventures from our Junior School colleagues next year! :)
Finally, our Early Years Graduation yesterday brought our celebrations to a close for this year. What a lovely way for the children to mark the end of their first school year with us here at FPIS! They have made a great start to life here at FPIS and we could not be prouder of them all. The children's enthusiasm and dance moves during their performance of 'Shake it off!' was joyful to watch and so full of passion, energy and fun! I would like to say another big thank you to our Early Years staff for putting in a super team effort to make sure our children end their Early Years journey with such a memorable and fun experience!
We will look forward to welcoming our Year 1 and 2 children and families back to school on Thursday 4th September @ 8:45 am. We will be checking in with our new Early Years children and families when they come into school for their visits during the first few days of the Autumn Term and will be delighted to welcome them on their first day at school on Tuesday 9th September @ 8:45 am.
So, as the school year ends, we can look forward to the summer break. Thank you once again for your continued support. I would like to wish you all a very happy, safe and restful summer holiday! :)
With very warm wishes
Jane Indge
Head of School
As we come to the end of another wonderful school year, I want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for your continued support, encouragement, and partnership throughout this academic year. It has been a joy to watch the children grow, explore, and achieve so much during the past year at school.
This year has been filled with memorable experiences with in school enrichment workshops as well as offsite school trips. Our Early Years children had a fantastic boat trip along the River Thames. Year 1 had an exciting coach trip to Windsor Castle, discovering the rich history behind this magnificent landmark. Year 2’s visit to the Monument in London offered a chance to learn about the city’s past, especially the Great Fire of London. Most recently, our Year 2s also enjoyed a day at Mudeford Quay, exploring the beach and learning about the vital work of the RNLI — a meaningful way to connect with nature and the wider community.
These experiences would not have been possible without the incredible dedication of our staff. I would like to thank every member of our team for their hard work, creativity, and tireless commitment to creating such a wonderful environment for our children.
As we head into the summer break, I wish all of our community a safe, happy, and restful holiday.
We look forward to welcoming the Reception and Year 1 children back in September, ready for another exciting year ahead.
Thank you once again for everything. Have a wonderful summer!
Warm regards,
Mike Wallace

We have been very sad to say farewell to Mrs Bedwell earlier today. Mrs Bedwell has been a much-valued member of our Early Years team and has also done a fantastic job supporting our Forest School sessions this year. We would like to thank Mrs Bedwell for all her hard work, support and kindness and wish her all the very best for the future.
We also bid Mrs Rashid a fond farewell this afternoon as she leaves us here at FPIS to take up her new role next door at FPJS. Mrs Rashid has been a wonderfully supportive member of our staff team, working across all year groups since joining us - as well as assisting during lunchtimes. We would like to say a big thank to her for everything she contributed in her time with us and wish her every success in her new job.
We were delighted that Wendy, our FPPF School Crossing Patroller, was able to join our Celebration Assembly this morning - on her final day before leaving to move away and begin a new adventure. Wendy has been at the heart of our community for so many years, making sure that countless children, parents and families are able to get to and fro safely at the start and end of the day. The children presented Wendy with a (lollipop shaped!) card that they had created as a token of our appreciation for all her efforts - come rain or shine! Wendy will be very much missed by us all!
We are extremely grateful to Mrs Akhter and Mrs Ratcliffe for the fantastic job they have done whilst teaching Willow Class since January. We would like to say a big thank you to them both and are delighted that they will both remain part of our staff team next year - and just a note to say that from September, Mrs Akhter will be known as Mrs Fazal.
Welcome to the FPIS family!
Say hello to our new team member...
Miss Stephanie Blackall
We are sure you will join us in welcoming Miss Blackall to our school next year. Miss Blackall has recently moved to the area and has experience teaching in KS1. We are very excited that she is joining us and wish her every success in her new role as Willow Class Teacher. We are sure that she will be a real asset to our wider FPIS staff team too!
SAM - our School Attendance Mascot, is our FPIS teddy bear who helps our children think about why it is so important to attend school every day.
Our children are busy learning right from the start of the day, so being in class on time each morning matters just as much too. Registration begins at 8:45am and we expect all children to be in class by 9:00am.
Each week, during our Celebration Assembly, the attendance figures are shared. The class with the best attendance gets to look after SAM until the following week.
As we have reached the end of the year, we have published the overall attendance figures for 2024-25. This means that SAM will be spending his summer holidays in Bumblebee Class as they had the highest attendance figure of 97.1%! Well done!
Our latest school attendance figures for each class are shown in the table. Our school attendance target is: 97%

Miss Lydia - Head of School for the Day!
Miss Lydia had a very busy day last Friday when she was Head of School for the day.
After morning gate duty, she joined Mrs Indge in welcoming parents and families attending the Year 2 Performance. After a quick drink (and piece of chocolate cake!) in the staff room, it was back to work organising and signing certificates in preparation for assembly. The rest of the morning was taken up with editing the FPIS newsletter - as well as passing on some important messages to the staff team.
In the afternoon, Miss Lydia presented the Head of School Awards during Celebration Assembly before taking ice-pops to each class for the children to enjoy - making her a very popular Head of School indeed!
Well done Lydia! You were a great help and it was a pleasure to have you as Head of School for the day.
A BIG thank you to all those who have very kindly purchased a book from our School Library Wishlist. We have had over 30 books donated so far, all of which will be available to borrow from the library in the Autumn Term.
If you would like to purchase a book, our list is still available at:

Thank you! :)
As we reach the final stretch of the children's first school year, our Early Years children have been thinking back on their 'journey' through school so far. To round off our topic on 'Journeys', we spent time reflecting on the adventures we have had together in Early Years - from the very first day until now! The children loved looking back through their scrapbooks and talking about how much they have changed and how far they have come with their hard work! Many children talked about our visit from Jumpstart Jonny and their exciting trip to Windsor! It was lovely to hear them use phases such as "I have learnt to..." and "I can now...". Each child had something special to share that was unique to them. It has been SO lovely to see how much all of the children have grown - not just in their learning but in their confidence, perseverance and determination too!
Last week the children visited their new Year 1 classes. They we able to meet their new teachers, have a go at some activities and ask lots of questions about Year 1. They all came back buzzing with excitement and looking forward to returning after the Summer break!
Yesterday was a truly special moment in Early Years as the children took part in their End of Year Graduation! Lots of proud grown up's came to celebrate with the Bumblebee's, Caterpillar's and Dragonflies. Each child wore a Graduation hat that they had made and they each received a certificate to celebrate their achievements and hard work this year. They also performed a selection of their favourite songs that reflected their learning and the fun they have had along the way! Just when the grown up's thought it couldn't get any better, the children surprised them with a brilliant dance performance to 'Celebration by Kool and The Gang' to end the super celebration with a smile on everyone's face! It was full of energy, excitement and pure joy - the perfect way to mark their end of Early Years!
What a fantastic way to end our project "We're Going on an Adventure!". The Year 1 children performed a range of songs sharing the things they have learnt throughout this project. This included; the seven continents of the world, a song about explorers, different ways to say hello and a song from Ghana. All of the songs were performed by the Year 1 children with confidence and enthusiasm.
After this wonderful performance, the children were able to share their group artwork which included different habitats from around the world made using papier mache! They also made their very own murals representing different continents from around the world. The children have loved bringing their ideas to life, working in teams and sharing their creativity!
We are so proud of the Year 1 children and all they have achieved this year. Thank you also to all of the wonderful families who came to support this lovely event.
The Year 1 children had an exciting opportunity to make as much noise as we wanted through the medium of music! Our drummer demonstrated how to play each instrument and we got the chance to play some call and response rhythms and sound patterns. As you can see from the photos, despite it being very loud we had a fantastic time! The children thoroughly enjoyed their African Drumming workshop and it even inspired some of them to become musicians in the future!
Well Year 2 FINALLY made it to the beach and what a brilliant, sunny day we all had! It started with an exciting ferry trip from Mudeford Quay to Mudeford Sandbanks. We loved exploring the sea from the ferry! Then when we arrived at the beach we set up our Base Camp and enjoyed eating our lunch sitting on the sand and watching the sea! It was then time for the real fun to begin! We had a carousel of six exciting activities to do. These included; rock pooling, making sandcastles, playing beach games, beach combing, sand dune exploration and arguably the most popular activity, dipping our toes into the sea!! We weren’t very lucky and didn’t find many animals during our rock pooling sessions BUT we did find lots of limpets and that was just as exciting!
It was such a brilliant way to bring all of our learning about the oceans and the habitats surrounding our oceans to life!
When we arrived back at Mudeford Quay we were able to look at the RNLI Lifeboat station which was a great opportunity for us to think about the facts we had learnt when we were in year 1.
The day was a huge success and the children were exemplary! So many people visiting Mudeford came out of their way to say how impressed they were with the children’s behaviour and we couldn’t agree more!
Thank you to the wonderful staff team and the amazing parent volunteers who made this a roaring success!
Our Year 2 buzzing bees did such a fantastic job during our Summer Production called: 'The Bee Musical!' We were so proud of their passion, commitment and determination to put on a fantastic show and they certainly achieved that! Over the last few weeks they have been working hard on their costumes, props, dances, songs and their lines and their hard work certainly paid off!
The children all did a fantastic job; they were brave, passionate and entertaining. This really sums up the year they have had in Year 2. They have all been so wonderful and have made us proud everyday!
Well done buzzing bees...you pollinated beautifully! All that is left to say is..."doo, doo, doo...the nectar team!!"
We were lucky to have a very exciting visit from one of our Early Years Parents, Mr and Mrs Bolygo who came in to talk to the whole school about drumming and how music can be used to tell stories. The session was full of rhythm, creativity and a whole lot of energy! The children loved learning how different beats can express different feelings or parts of a story. Some of the children even got to have a go on the drums themselves, it brought huge smiles and lots of excitement. The children and adults clapped along and it was a great way to end a Friday afternoon! Following the assembly, the Early Years children 'had a go' at creating their own woodland band using pots, pans, spoons and natural resources they could find to make LOUD music outside! It was so lovely to see how inspired they were from the assembly.
A huge thank you to our special guests for sharing their time and talent with all of the children in our school - it was a great excuse to rock & roll!
We can't believe the year is over with our School Council team! They have done so much this year to help raise money for our school and we are so proud of their efforts! From helping to sell poppies, red noses and even chicks and bunnies after school, to advertising Christmas and Summer Fairs.
It has been wonderful having such an enthusiastic and passionate team who have been excellent role models throughout the year, consistently following our school promises and values. They have brought some fantastic ideas to our meetings and shared our discussions with their classes.
We hope our School Council team continue to bring their excellent ideas wherever they go next and we wish them all the best! Thank you so much for all your hard work, we have really valued your ideas and support.
This month, our Eco Representatives were truly amazed to discover that the wheat in our growing area is already ready to harvest! The warm and persistent summer temperatures has matured our winter wheat a couple of months earlier than expected.
Once the wheat was cut, it was time for the next exciting step. We learnt that a bundle of cut wheat stalks is called a sheaf and the children worked brilliantly in teams to gather and tie the stalks together, showing fantastic care and skills.
The sheaves will now be left to dry out for a few days, ready for the next stage in the bread making journey!
The Eco representatives had a brilliant idea and decided to use the leftover wheat stems in our Eco area to help create cosy shelters for insects and other small creatures. It’s a perfect way to support local wildlife and make the most of what we’ve grown!!
The Eco Club have had a BLAST this year! Thank you to all the Eco Representative for their hard work this year!
In nurture, the children have had a great finish to the term and the year. We have been busy talking about what it looks like to move to a new year group and for our year 2s a new school, we have had lots of classroom visits and opportunities to meet the new teachers.
This year we have had lots of success with our growing beds, we have grown peas courgettes and strawberries as well as our beautiful flowering tubs.
The nurture team would like to wish our year 2 children all the best as they move up to year 3 at the junior school and we look forward to welcoming back our current year 1s and early years children in September. We would also like to wish all our children and their families a wonderful summer.
From The Nurture Team
We have been learning about fire safety and how to light a fire using a flint and steel during our most recent FS sessions. After showing determination and a lot of perseverance, we eventually managed to get a few sparks and a flame!
We were able to light a small fire in the base of the Kelly Kettle, which we used to boil some water. We then went in search of daisies, which we used to make daisy tea!
The children have also been enjoying using the hammock - what a great way to lie back, relax and enjoy our beautiful woodland!
We love finding out about and celebrating our children's achievements outside of school!
If your child has an achievement that they are very proud of and would like to share with us all, they will get the opportunity to do so during our Celebration Assembly on a Friday.
