Week 8 - things I can finish:
Check and fix questions on the 'when one number is near 100' word problems task. Remember the difference for addition versus subtraction when we round and compensate!
Finish all problems on the 'when one number is near 100' sheet (it talks about Marcel and Susan on it). Remember the difference for addition versus subtraction when we round and compensate! Again, remember the difference for addition versus subtraction when we round and compensate!
Finish any algorithm tasks, careful with carrying and borrowing.
What we have been working on:
We have practiced some questions using inverse operations, as we know subtraction problems can become addition problems and vice versa. We have learned about rounding and compensating for numbers that are close to 100, and how this is done differently depending on if it is addition or subtraction (we used place value blocks to cement this concept). We can add up to 3, 3 digit numbers using algorithms, including carrying numbers. We can subtract 3 digit numbers using algorithjms, including borrowing.
Week 6
Create your own google drawing explaining how to identify the largest decimal.
