On your own: Make a “Big Science Ideas” notes page
Make a copy of this digital Unit notes page to make your own class notes page (you can edit the # and title of the sections in your unit and make copies to add to student journals).
Watch/skim all of the mini-lesson videos for the written Big Idea(s) (towards the end of the video).
Write down the Big Idea(s) for each Section in your digital class notes page. You may also wish to add the specific activities you will do with students that will help them get to that big idea (i.e. their evidence). Once completed, this table serves as your answer key for building out a class summary table with students as they work through the unit.Note: The Big Ideas are the disciplinary core ideas (DCIs) that students should understand by the end of the year.
This video will help you use Google sheets to easily format your data so it can be efficiently analyzed.
