Career of the Week (5/29/23) - Respiratory Therapists
According to the Michigan Department of Education, every student grades 7 to 12 must develop an Educational Development Plan. This plan documents the process of identifying career goals and how you will achieve them.
1) Personal Information - Student's name, date of birth and grade level.
2) Career Goal(s) - Students determine which career pathway they would like to move toward.
3) Educational/Training Goal(s) - Students identify what education or training is required to attain their career goal(s).
4) Assessment Results - Assessment results can be used when making career decisions.
5) Plan(s) of Action - Students will use their career & educational goal(s) to set a plan of action into place for achieving those goals. This can include selecting high school courses that align with their goals, work-based learning opportunities, volunteer opportunities, internships, part-time employment, job shadowing, etc...
6) Parent Consultation/Endorsement - As part of the EDP process, students should share their EDP with their parent/guardian.
Students should revisit their EDP often, but at a minimum annually.
