Candidates - President
Camille Dubno (Year 1)
I am Camille "Diva" Dubno, a polish first year student doing IJ, with my intrests being music and anything tied to visual and performing arts. Students should vote for me based on my experience in working within the Advisory Council, which allowed me to see how Fortuna works, and how conflicts should be resolved. Most of all, I am a people’s person, an active member of the LUc community, I am very friendly, and I am confident and comfortable with the spotlight, so it would be an honor to be the face of Fortuna. I center my campaign on improving communication within LUC, between all members of it. Additionally, a key pillar of mine is inclusion, as Fortuna is as strong as its weakest members.
Liam Blaauwhof (Year 1)
Hey, I am Liam from South Africa. I’m running to be the President of Fortuna, because it’s credibility and reputation is in serious crisis, and now is the time for transformative leadership. I have decided to run because I believe Fortuna can be a more effective platform for committees and student interests.
I stand for two things:1. Restoring Faith in Fortuna: The association has become a joke on campus and it’s time we confront the reality of that situation. We need deeper cooperation and composed engagement with the student body, not out of touch insta reels. In the heat of recent crisis, I will ensure the board prioritizes accountability.
2. Rebuild Fortuna: Reform negotiations with the Advisory Council, College Council, and LUC faculty to fix structural issues undermining effective student democracy and make Fortuna a stronger platform for student representation. This initiative invites all students who want to contribute to reform and strengthen Fortuna within LUC.

Lumi Reichenbach (Year 1)
Heippa! I am Lumi from Finland and Germany. I am a first year student going into International Justice. Before LUC, I was deeply involved with all levels of advocacy, on the policy side and in the NGO field. All together, I was president and vice-president of a national organisation, chaired two youth councils and was a member of our student council. I did not only lead, but I talked with stakeholders all the way from politicians and officials to the community I was serving. So, it comes as no surprise that I would love to work on our community here at LUC and that the president role is the most natural for me. Throughout my time here I have been involved in student activities both inside and outside the bubble and have thus gathered essential knowledge to build up on what I already know. At Fortuna, I want to work on building trust and truly being the voice of our student body: we are only as strong as the weakest link. I believe I have all the tools to do so and make the next year incredible to all of us!

Andrei Martoiu (Year 1)
Hey guys! My name is Andrei, I'm a first year student and I come from the great country of Romania. Since coming to LUC, I have been deeply involved with university’s student life, which makes me want to be involved even more in the organizational part of it. In my free time, I love listening to my vinyl collection, hanging out with my friend at the beach, and watching movies (feel free to send me a recommendation :D ). Through my experience helping to organize Leiden’s MUN conference this year, in addition to my role in Student Consultancy, I have learned to synthesize student’s interests and lead ambitious projects. These experiences have given me the skills that I believe make me the best for the position of Vice President of Fortuna. I cannot wait to share my ideas with you in the following days!
Benjamin Ranagan-Lee (Year 1)
Hi, I’m Benjamin, a first-year living on Floor 21, and I’m running for VP!
As your VP candidate, I’m concerned about Fortuna. I’m worried about the loss in faith, the breakdown in communication, and the absence of accountability. We need change, and I hope to embody it.
As VP, I’ll make sure that you can speak to me directly, going beyond the established Office hours. My contact information and room number are available starting now (room 698, +33622343449) . You can shoot me a text, drop by my room, or put a message in my mailbox. Every week, I’ll release a Google Forms link for you to anonymously share your concerns. I also want to address Fortuna’s image. Elect me, and its social media content will be intentional and informative, to ensure that everyone is aware of what’s happening in the bubble. Finally, I’ll release accountability statements during crises. You’ll know what’s going on, who’s responsible, and how we’ll fix it.
These measures will be the building blocks for deeper reforms achieved in coordination with students, committees and the Advisory Council. I don’t promise perfection, but I promise a bottom up, student-led rebuild of Fortuna’s structure and credibility. If you’d like to chat, shoot me a message!

Candidates - Treasurer
Oriol Hoskens Castillo (Year 1)
My name is Oriol Hoskens Castillo, and I am a first-year student planning to pursue EES at LUC. Throughout high school, I regularly served as the treasurer in various committees, which helped to develop strong budgeting and financial management skills. I am eager to continue this role as treasurer of Fortuna, an organization that I believe is essential to the unique student experience at LUC. While I recognize the concerns and wariness held by my fellow students, I am committed to improving transparency and efficiency by strengthening communication around budget decisions and ensuring faster reimbursements. Furthermore, I am committed to improving the link between the treasury and the committees themselves and will put in place more avenues for committees to educate the treasury on their plans and events to allow the budget to be allocated with the full scope of our committees' needs and value to the student body in mind.
Jade Belmar (Year 1)
I'm Jade, a fellow student at LUC and a massive cheapskate. Students should vote for me for treasurer because I will monitor and manage the money like the community property that it is. My core values of honesty, clarity, and hardwork are the characteristics that I would want in a treasurer. I am far from perfect, but my weaknesses of being both practical and frugal to a fault further make me well-suited for the role. I hope this resonates with the student body!

Apolline Depauw (Year 1)
Hello fortunians !! My name is Apolline Depauw and it would be an honor and a pleasure to receive your vote as one of the CAOs (Committee Affairs Officer) for next year’s Fortuna committee.
Before I explain the qualities and reasons you should vote for me, I would like to share a bit more about myself. I am French, but I have spent most of my life abroad, notably in the United States and Hong Kong. I am engaged in a variety of hobbies, including photography, art, poetry, music, running, and yoga, which have given me a broad appreciation and understanding of different disciplines.
I believe that strong communication and effective teamwork, especially between the two CAOs, are essential to the success of the Fortuna board for 2026/2027. I am deeply committed to the wellbeing and development of the various committees at LUC, and I genuinely care about the projects they undertake.
Experience:Over time, I have been involved in several initiatives, including LUCID, Analogue, MusicCo, Yearbook committee, Lustrum and Dies Fatalis (board photoshoot). Through these experiences, I have gained a solid understanding of the diversity and needs of the different committees at LUC.
Communication:I consider myself a good listener and will always be open to any problems, ideas, or concerns, no matter how big or small. I am also very responsive and easy to reach, ensuring clear and timely communication whenever needed with the comittees.
Problem solving:I always approach challenges as opportunities to learn, grow, and support others wherever I can. For example, I organized a fundraising concert at my high school for “Imagine for Margo”, where I had to navigate multiple challenges that required strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and coordination.

Eaness Mjaied (Year 1)
Hi Everyone! My name is Eaness Mjaied and I am running for one of the two Committee affairs officers.
I am running for this position because I want to take an active part in improving transparency between committees and the Fortuna board. Each club and committee deserves to feel represented and supported by Fortuna and as your future committee affairs officer I will aid in this representation through a clear constant fair flow of communication.
As for my experience at LUC and High school, I have worked in many leadership positions in and out of student government that prioritized transparency: National honors society Vice President, TedX acquisitions team member, and Board member of various student-staff district hiring committees.
I'd be honored to be able to bring my experiences and ideas to help make sure that every committee has a voice and feels fairly represented!

Catherina Roggeveen (Year 1)
Hi, I’m Catherina, I’m half-Dutch and half-Hungarian, future GED major, and I’m applying for the position of Committee Affairs Officer (CAO). Throughout high school, I have held multiple positions, both in student representation and within various committees, including leading the Sustainability, Philosophy, and MUN committees simultaneously. These experiences have given me a good foundation in understanding and overseeing committee work, while also balancing different perspectives and interests. I have held roles representing both the interests of my own year to the school, as well as my whole school at a higher-level board as a DMR (Deelmedezeggenschapsraad/Participation Council) student representative. These positions have strengthened my ability to communicate effectively and professionally, as well as developing my time-management skills through managing the responsibility that comes with holding multiple positions. Because of my background and my diverse interests, I think I would be a good fit for the role of CAO, as I can ensure the interests of all committees are represented and taken into consideration by Fortuna.

I'm David, a first-year thrilled to run for CAO. As someone who loves LUC's committee scene, I want to be the bridge between Fortuna and all student committees! From helping with budgets and contracts to organizing committee Fairs and Well-being Week. I'll be supporting your success, solving problems, and keeping student life organized! And this week you can hep me achieve this. Can't wait to support your favorite committees next year!

Alessandra Escario (Year 1)
Hi, I’m Alessandra and I am running to be your next External Relations Officer
I am a first year student heading towards a WP major, building connections between people and institutions is exactly what I want to bring to LUC.
I am not new to the student life behind the scenes, I was part of the board of my high school’s student association, so I already have some experience organising events and coordinating with people outside of my circle.
As ERO, I really want to give more than just a good academic experience to students. You deserve real connections outside of the bubble, and that’s what I intend to keep pushing forward.
I am someone who never hesitates to reach out. You won’t have to wonder whether opportunities are being chased, they will be and always with a positive energy.

Parks Lamkey (Year 1)
Hi, I am Parks Lamkey, and I am running for the position of External Relations Officer.
I came to Europe from across the pond because I knew I wanted to meet new people from all over, and now I want to do my best to bring that same energy to foster relations between Fortuna and outside organizations.
I have also engaged as a delegate in Model United Nations for five years. I’ve worked with so many new and different people and have built a strong skill set for collaborating with others to build the best possible finished product.
LUC wouldn’t be LUC without its events, both organized within and outside the college. Having fun activities to destress from all of our work is essential to maintaining a healthy life here, and I will work to ensure that we continue to have such events.
I can’t wait to help organize events for UCSRN next year, and I hope to strengthen our external network by providing more fun events for us all to enjoy next year.

Martina Mongelli (Year 1)
Hello everyone! My name is Martina, I’m Italian and soon-to-be CHS major. I’m applying for the role of Internal Communication Officer (ICO). In my high school I had a variety of creative roles, most notably as the editor-in-chief of my school's yearbook, as well as the designer for most of its pages. During that time, I learnt how to use various design software like Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, while also developing strong teamwork and collaboration skills to ensure that everyone was on board and working efficiently towards the same goal. Moreover this position allowed me to learn how to properly and smoothly communicate with various people both staff, faculty and students, which would come as a useful skill to be applied here as well. Overall, I have tons of experience, and consider myself a pretty creative person!
I’d like to think that my background and who I am makes me a good choice for the role of ICO, and I’d love to apply my past experiences and skills to Fortuna and LUC as a whole ! :)
