The Hemingway App makes your writing bold and clear. The app highlights lengthy, complex sentences and common errors; if you see a yellow sentence, shorten or split it. If you see a red highlight, your sentence is so dense and complicated that your readers will get lost trying to follow its meandering, splitting logic — try editing this sentence to remove the red.

CYOA

Choose Your Own Adventure - CYOA means Choose Your Own Adventure. Here is a link to a google slide that explains the process and gives several different help resources and many other tools besides google slides to accomplish the story such as docs and forms. As a teacher you can make a story for the students to participate in or you can have your students make their own stories. I am going to use math as the subject matter of the story but you could use history, science or anything. Click here to try out the one we made. Make sure you click on the answers to advance slides or on the links. If you click just somewhere on the page the slide will advance instead of going to the correct slide. Another thing your students could do is to use google slides to create a story without options. We think it really helps students to take a concept like fractions and try to come up with a real life scenario using them. We think it takes the students to higher levels of Bloom's when they have to analyze the topic to create a story.
