If you are absent, it is YOUR responsibility to retrieve the work from either Google classroom, a peer, or TDS.
You are expected to participate in class activities daily.
Personal Electronic Devices
We will follow the district's policy on personal electronic devices.
Assignment Expectations
Work assigned is to be completed and turned in on time.
Late work policy
No late work will be accepted after the end of a unit or assessment/project. Exceptions will only be allowed for EXCUSED absences (from the office/as marked in Infinite Campus).
All electronic work will be due by 11:59pm via Google classroom.
I update grades usually within days of a daily assignment or in-class work. Essays take approximately two weeks to be graded and entered into the grade book.
I will do my best to explain, inform, and develop understanding of the ideas and activities we will pursue. Please ask questions if something does not make sense. I am happy to explain & I'm sure someone else has the same question.
Parent and student contact will be sent as needed.
CLASS LITERATURE LIST
DAILY: Students will subscribe to and read a daily email/online source from either the DONUT, 1440, or CNN in 10 covering current events as they are happening in the world. These cover a variety of issues and are all approached from a non-partisan viewpoint.
Students will read an independent novel of choice throughout the semester in addition to in-class readings. Students will have access to the school’s Library Media Center, Mid-Continent Public Library, teachers’ classroom libraries, and their own personal collections. For more information about the books, please speak with student, search Destiny (our library database), or email TDS.
In addition to the independent novel, students will be participating in literature circles where each group will read a selected novel of choice and complete a project on the novel. Selections are listed below.
Not all selections listed will be offered each semester.
