We are excited to announce the induction of 33 new Peer Leaders and 5 new Adult Advisors to our Sources of Strength team for the 2025–2026 school year! These new members join a vibrant and committed group, bringing our team to a total of 88 Peer Leaders and 23 Adult Advisors.
Sources of Strength is a nationally recognized prevention program focused on building a culture of support, connection, and resilience within our school and county. Through peer-to-peer engagement and adult mentorship, the program empowers students to be agents of positive change in their communities.
Our new team members participated in comprehensive training sessions held on August 20th and September 12th, where they learned how to promote protective factors such as hope, help, and strength.
“Be the ‘i’ in Kind: Positive Friends,” running from September 15–19. This initiative encourages students to recognize and celebrate the power of friendship and kindness in creating a supportive school environment.
We look forward to a year filled with meaningful campaigns, strong connections, and continued growth. Welcome to our new team members — your voices and leadership will make a lasting impact!
Wednesday, September 17th was Constitution Day! On this day in 1787, the Constitution was ratified at the Constitutional Convention, making this year the Constitution's 238th birthday! At just 4,400 words, the Constitution is the supreme law of our land establishing the framework for the federal government and guaranteeing fundamental rights for its citizens. It consists of a Preamble, seven Articles that divide power among three branches (Legislative, Executive, and Judicial), and 27 Amendments, including the Bill of Rights. As a "living" document, it has been amended over time to address the changing needs of the nation and remains the oldest written national constitution still in use.
8th Grade Georgia Studies students celebrated by wearing Red-White-and Blue and by learning about the Constitution and the principles that built our nation.
