Hello Vickery Creek Families,
I trust this message finds our Viper families well as we turn the calendar to March! Please read below for some great things happening this month!
Monday, March 9 - marks the start of Quarter 4. Our bell schedule reverts back to the same as Quarter 1. Our Vipers did a great job getting to the correct class at the correct time today. It is hard to believe we are already in the last quarter of the school year. Our teachers and staff are looking forward to continuing to work hard with our students to help them finish the year strong!
"Stuff the Bus" Campaign - The West Cluster of Schools is hosting a "Stuff the Bus" campaign to support The Place of Forsyth's summer food pantry. We are collecting canned and boxed foods thru March 31, 2026. Please drop off items in the Front Vestibule of the school. Be sure to check out our VCMS Stuff the Bus promo on our social media outlets and school website.
FCS Duck Dive for Education - Click the link to learn more about the FCS Duck Dive for Education and enter for your chance to win $10,000. 6th grade reading students continued their exploration of the Historical Fiction genre, expanding on their reading of A Night Divided by Jennifer Nielsen. They learned about the characteristics of Historical Fiction, identified these characteristics in A Night Divided and related them to other books featured in the presentation. We discussed the importance of authors like Lauren Tarshis (I Survived Series) and Alan Gratz, who have made historical fiction interesting and accessible to so many students. We also explored other interesting and exciting Historical Fiction books from our library collection, rounding out the introduction with intriguing background information of the featured time periods and locations including The Great Dismal Swamp, 1960's Birmingham, Alabama, Chernobyl, and more.
