VCMS administration community message

Dear VCMS Families,

We are excited to all be back in the building on a Monday for the first time in a couple weeks ! As we continue to shake off the winter chill, we are moving headlong into second semester and into one of the busiest times of the school year.

A Warm Welcome to our New Receptionist!

• If you stop by the front office, please join us in welcoming our new Receptionist, Mrs. Mona Patel. Mrs. Patel joins our VCMS family with a wealth of experience and genuine care for supporting our students, staff and families. We are thrilled to have her at Vickery Creek Middle School. We thank you in advance for your patience as Mrs. Patel gets settled in her new role.

Save the Date!

• VCMS International Festival will take place this year on Friday, February 27. Students and families will be able to sample foods from around the world in our Cafeteria and watch performances in our Gym.

Spring Activities Kicking Off!

• Our Spring Activities are in full gear as our students prepare to participate in athletics, fine arts. Our student-athletes are getting ready for a great seasons on the Track and on the Links as our Track & Field and Golf teams are looking forward to another great season.

• Our Fine Arts programs are working hard to hit the stage and perform this Spring. Our Drama, Band, & Chorus students are all looking forward to their performances that will no doubt bring the house down!

Lastly, our Boys & Girls Basketball season recently wrapped up. Thank you to our basketball players, cheerleaders, coaches, & fans for another great season of Vipers Basketball! Additionally, our VCMS Math Team, VEX Robotics, eSports & Science Olympiad have all experienced great success throughout the school year. We are so proud of all of our students and student-athletes for being a positive representation of Vickery Creek Middle School!

FCS Social Studies Fair

We are proud to recognize our outstanding 6th and 7th grade students from Mrs. Kimmel's (6th) and Ms. Wendl's (7th) classes who participated in this year’s Forsyth County Schools Social Studies Fair. Our school had a record-breaking number of entries, with 18 total projects submitted, showcasing students’ creativity, research skills, and passion for history and the social sciences. Many of our participants earned first-place ribbons for their exceptional work, reflecting the time, effort, and dedication they put into their projects. Congratulations to all of our Social Studies Fair participants for representing our school so well—we are incredibly proud of you!

VCMS athletics

Congratulations to both our 7th and 8th grade VCMS boys and girls basketball teams for their fantastic seasons! All four teams finished up their seasons with great success! A big shout out to our Viper athletes and coaches! GO VIPERS!

VCMS Basketball Cheer

Our wonderful basketball cheerleaders exemplify school spirit! They consistently show up with energy, enthusiasm, and pride, cheering on our teams through every game. Whether we’re winning or facing a challenge, they lead the crowd with positivity, encouragement, and unity. Their dedication, teamwork, and passion truly exemplify what it means to have strong team spirit, and they play a huge role in motivating our athletes and bringing our school community together.

8th grade ELA - Ms. Seymour & Ms. Holt

Book Spine Poetry

8th grade ELA classes participated in a Book Spine Poetry activity in the media center. Students created poems by stacking books, the book titles making up the lines of poetry. They earned points for representing different poetry terms as well as different literary genres in their work. As students explored hundreds of book titles for their poems they discovered new books and authors to add to their 'To Be Read' lists. We were so impressed by our students' creativity and the beautiful poems they built for us.
