Objective: Students will build learning tools (note cards, quizzlets, etc.) and practice using/identifying terms with their definitions/scenarios.
Directions: Please use the literacy terms below to build learning a learning tool. You may choose whichever tool to build. When you are finished, you will work with a group to feature up to 4 terms on a poster. Your poster must convey the term, definition, and an example (scenario). No you cannot use the same example provided below. You must create one on your own and explain it to the class during the presentation.
Submission: You will snap a picture of your completed poster and insert the image onto a google doc. Then you will convert the doc into a .pdf and submit for a grade.
Follow these steps to complete successfully:
(part 1)
Determine which kind of learning tool you will build.
Use the terms and definitions provided below to build the tool.
Test your tool to make sure it is accessible and functions properly. You will receive class time to practice with a classmate throughout the unit.
(part 2)

Choose a place in the classroom to create the group poster.
Gather resources (poster, markers).
Receive which terms your group will present from the teacher.
Draft and plan how the poster will work using scratch paper.
a well designed poster would consider the number of words and space used on the poster.
for example: If the number or terms is 4, dividing the poster into quadrants would be ideal
Offer a time for feedback from the group and make any revisions on the draft.
Create the poster.
make the poster look visually appealing
consider tracing, different fonts, and iconography
Develop a short presentation
Practice the presentation with the group
Present to the class
Formative presentation, professional dress is not required.
This work taught me more about the art of teamwork and it enabled me to learn the literacy terms in deeper meaning as well.
