Social Analysis

The United States has one of the largest immigrant detention systems, detaining individuals in prison-like conditions and treating immigrants like criminals. In the detention centers, there are reports of civil and human rights abuse that are also faced at the border, leading to death.

The root cause of this injustice is the racism that exists in the world. Racism affects our government, which has been established in our laws. Immigrants are in privately run immigration detention centers that make a profit off the imprisonment of black, brown, and indigenous immigrants. Because of racism, which results in unequal opportunities and outcomes for people depending on their race, these private corporations have been able to pocket money. America treats immigrants differently based on their race, and it is an issue that people have been fighting to change for years.
