CURRENT NEWS IN HAITI

"As of March 2024, the crisis in Haiti has reached unprecedented levels due to widespread gang violence. As many as 5.5 million people, including 3 million children, are in urgent need of humanitarian aid".

These tents are for people who fled their homes to protect themselves and their families from the violence.

Over 900 schools in Port-au-Prince have shut down due to the armed gangs killing, kidnapping, and shooting people around the city. Children have had no access to education for the past several months.

Around 1,400 inmates escaped and tried to seize control of Haiti's airport.

The Prime Minister, Ariel Henry, has fled to Puerto Rico due to death threats from gangs. It led him no choice but to flee.

Mission of the project

My mission is to shed light and raise awareness of how poverty and gang violence have taken a toll on Haitians and how they are being affected by it every day. Haiti's current issues are dealing with homelessness, poverty, and insecurity and it is heartbreaking to hear what the people of Haiti are going through.
