On the news, the only time Haiti is talked about is when something terrible happens. Some examples are how the gangs escaped and took control of the capital, Port-au-Prince, and when President Jovenel Moise was assassinated in 2021. The news never talks about what is going on every day and how people are suffering. As a community, I feel that it is important to spread awareness so that people know what is going on.

As a part of my action, I have created an Instagram account (@haiti_breakingnews) where I will be spreading awareness about what is currently happening in Haiti. I have followed friends and family for support and I hope to expand people's minds about my topic. I will be making posts, adding on stories daily, and creating highlights for people to go back on.
