Pace Charts

The Florida Elementary program runs on a traditional school calendar, but instead of having four quarters for the year, we have two semesters. Staying on pace means submitting all work during the week it is due.  This will help students to avoid getting behind and will allow students to focus on their work one week at a time instead of struggling to get caught up.

Attendance is tracked weekly by the work submitted for each class.  It is an expectation that your student stays on pace.  Assignments are due in each class each week. If your student is not submitting work regularly in all six classes, they may be considered truant.  In the instance a student does fall behind, we have many resources to assist them. The best option, however, is to stay on pace.

There is a specific pace chart for each course. The pace charts are found in every course in Educator.  A pace chart shows what assignments are due each week of the semester.

Temporary Zeros

Every week, temporary zeros will be assigned for any work that is past due. These zeros are placeholders that will stay in the grade book until the missing work is submitted and graded. Students should make it a priority to complete these assignments as soon as possible. In most cases, a student has full access to the assessment and/or is able to reset it in order to submit it. If a student needs an assignment unlocked to allow them to submit, they should contact the teacher of that course, and they will unlock the assignment and allow the opportunity to submit the work for grading.
