Polk State College offers a College Success Course, SLS1101, taught by FVHS instructors. This is a great way to start dual enrollment and to try it out with a little bit of extra support!
General Eligibility
Grade 9 (second semester) to 12
3.0 unweighted GPA (must have completed at least 1 high school course at the time of application in order to have a high school GPA)
Qualifying Test Scores (only 1 test needed):
PERT 106 Reading, 103 Writing, 114 Math (MAT1033) / 123 (MAC1105) any PERT score accepted to take SLS1101
SAT 490 Reading/Writing, 480 Math (MAT1033) / 530 (MAC1105)
ACT 19 Reading, 17 Writing, 19 Math (MAT1033) / 21 (MAC1105)
CLT 38 sum of verbal and grammar/writing, 16 math
Note that many courses can be taken with passing Reading/Writing but not Math and vice versa. Maximum 12 credits until all 3 scores are met.

Number of College Courses Permitted Per Term:
9th grade and new students recommended 1-2 college classes
Grade 10-12, dual enrollment - 3 college courses, maximum 11 college credits
Early Admissions - 12 to 15 credit hours (3.2 unweighted GPA and 12th grade)
