The Primary Science Development Officer’s (PSDO) role is to provide support and training in STEM subjects to individual teachers, schools and clusters. As part of this role a new STEM website is being launched this month that has links to fantastic resources, CLPL opportunities and suggested learning activities. A great place to start for planning science is the Education Scotland/RAiSE Science planning resource: https://wakelet.com/wake/xrDjTWEcxMR4iTopHNi36.
Clackmannanshire council are lucky enough to be commencing work with SSERC over the next two years by participating in the Primary Cluster Programme which also aims to develop STEM capacity in primary schools. All three clusters will be involved and this is being coordinated by the PSDO. This will involve additional support and training and provide many new and exciting STEM resources for each school.
