Welcome! Our voluntary mentorship program is designed to focus on skill development for both the mentor and mentee and is designed for any full-time employee who has been in their position for at least 6 months and is part of a Company-Owned Entity.
This is a 10-week long program and the expectation is that mentors and mentees are willing and able to dedicate up to 1.5 hours per week for the 10 weeks. To help provide a buffer with scheduling, the goal is to have 10 meetings in 12 total weeks, if needed. This includes a 1-hour weekly meeting and 30 minutes dedicated to follow-up or prep work that may be needed, if applicable.
Participating in our mentorship program will be a rewarding experience for both mentees and mentors. Most importantly, it will aid in professional growth, development, and networking opportunities. For those that apply and are accepted into the program, we will match mentors and mentees based on areas of expertise and interest.
Our own unique program twist:
In traditional mentorship programs, typically someone more tenured and experienced in their career will mentor someone greener in their career. As part of our culture, we do believe that everyone is talented and everyone has something to offer and teach, and, on the flip side, everyone has more to learn! That is where the concept of reverse mentorship comes into play. Reverse mentorship is where someone who may be greener in their career could mentor someone more tenured in their career. A great example could be social media - someone more tenured may not be using Tik Tock and understand how that app could help drive customers into the store, whereas, potentially, a greener employee may be an avid user and helps run social media campaigns at their Fleet Feet store. Again, someone greener in their career could mentor someone more tenured in their career.
Our goal is to have this program launch twice per year and have a Spring Program and a Fall Program.
