One thing I learned from feedback and refleciton on Standard 6 7 8 video is to be critical of using filler lessons. Much like technology, you have to be able to really connect it to the learning objectives. I think the procedural writing was very well ingrained in the students by the end of the two weeks, but they didn't get a lot of time to write for their own expert topics. This makes me aware time limitations and how to use the lessons appropriately. The challenge mentioned in my mentor debrief was about DLP and how to manage asynchronous activities and live sessions. For each subject we had between two and three live lessons per week and the other 2-3 were async. There was definitely practice in the async activities, but it was hard to cover new material or skills during those times. So the "fun" activity like writing procedure for how to build a snowman and pizza might have been better left out and replaced with more exper topic individual flash drafting.
