Caprice Schupp Module 2 reflection: I feel this Module helped me form some basic philosophies that I already knew about myself. 1) I may have more education than my students, but that doesn't mean I know more. I just know different things. 2) Differentiation is good for the whole class. This was the basis of my whole template for teaching. Since I'm coming from a background of assisting students with special needs, I know just how important it is to bring the lesson to the student in a way that they can learn the objective best. The objective may be different for some students, the delivery may be different for some students, but the community and environment needs to work for everyone.
The other website we used to complete a mind maps is called Coggle.it My Flowchart for a struggling student and Group Project Technology for disabilities . Should be able to click and view without any login.
This is what my partner and I made for the differentiation assignment. I bought a trial pro subscription for this and it made it easier to use the images I wanted. I wish the view page were able to zoom in - it's difficult to see all the information at the size they give.
This video explains that it's ok to use more than one language inside the classroom. It's even encouraged!
I found this video when reading about the differentiated instruction - not just for special needs students but for all different types of learners and other categories.
I thought it seemed wrong to make different lessons for boys and girls, but my instructor for module 2 helped me understand that it's more of a consideration of how to deliver so students can meet their objectives.
I really liked this model of Personalized Learning. One thing that was great was the student agency and the weekly check-ins between student and teacher.
