Please note the first day back to school for all Grade 6-12 students is Thursday, 14 August 2025
Please visit the FIS website for all calendars (academic calendars, Upper School and FISW letter day calendars, and event calendars).
Please note: The Wiesbaden campus letter day calendar is different from the Oberursel campus letter day calendar.
FIS operates an ID badge system for parents. For visibility and easy identification, the badges have a bright blue background and are attached to a yellow lanyard. They also include a photo, which you will need to upload online. For security reasons, we request that you do not change the FIS color-coded lanyard to another lanyard. Please ensure you have your badge for campus access and it is visible at all times, while on campus.
Our ICT department has developed a quick and easy process for uploading photos; simply follow the steps below:
Log in to our secure photo upload site at (https://reset.fis.edu/portal/ul/) with your FIS username (firstname.lastname) and password
Use the “choose” button to select a suitable photo for your ID card
Crop your photo and then select “upload”
After you have successfully uploaded your picture our IT department will process and print your ID card and you will be notified via email when and where it will be ready for collection
If you have any issues uploading a photo, please email support@fis.edu. If you prefer to have a member of our staff take your photo and process your ID card while you are on campus, please stop by the Tech Deck in the Upper School Atrium during school hours.
Bus Tickets
We are pleased to announce that in alignment with our ID card system, we will again have bus passes showing the photograph of the student. These are currently being printed, and therefore, instead of being sent to you by mail, they will be handed to students on their respective bus as soon as they are ready. These bus passes are valid for the school year 2025/2026. If you cancel the use of school transportation mid-year, please return your bus pass(es) to ensure that you receive your pro-rata refund.
Every student is entitled to a safe and pleasant ride to and from school, and we welcome mutual cooperation with parents to ensure that this is the case. To this effect, you will receive a list of rules for student behavior on the bus together with your bus schedule.
To register for transportation, click here.
If you have any questions, please contact the Transportation Department at transportation@fis.edu.
Flexible bus tickets
Flexible bus tickets for those who do not use our FIS bus transportation service regularly can be purchased for €10 per journey. These tickets can be used by students once per school week for existing school bus stops, provided there are still seats available on the school bus. Flexible bus tickets are available from either the Accounting Office or the Transportation Office at the Oberursel Campus, or with Ms. Nicole Bentley nicole_bentley@fis.edu or 06127 9940-0 at the Wiesbaden Campus reception area.
It is important that you check the availability of bus seats in advance with the Transportation Office, telephone 06171-2024-466, or email transportation@fis.edu.
Late Bus Tickets
Commencing 18 August 2025 and continuing through early June 2026, a late bus service is available Monday to Thursday for Grade 6-12 students on the Oberursel Campus, and Tuesdays and Thursdays for Grade 6-8 students at FISW. This service is only offered to areas that have a minimum number of riders per day during a given semester, including areas not previously served.
The buses will stop according to the bus timetables available from the Transportation office.
Late bus users will be charged a €10 fee for each trip. Tickets can be purchased from the Transportation Office, Room 747 on the top floor of the Old Main building. For the FISW campus, tickets must be purchased from Ms. Nicole Bentley at the Wiesbaden Campus.
Due to safety and capacity reasons, all late bus riders must be registered with the Transportation Office so that the school can ensure enough space is available.
Please also note that late bus tickets are only valid for the calendar school year in which they were purchased. Unused tickets can be refunded if returned to the Accounting Office by the end of the same school year. Tickets may not be transferred over to the next school year.

Ensuring the Safety of our Students
We hope we do not have to implement our emergency communications procedures during the school year. However, it is important for you to know what to expect if the Head of School needs to announce the closing of school due to actual or potential hazards, such as bad weather or the threat to the safety and well being of students and employees. In these situations, school buses may operate late in the morning or not operate at all; after-school activities may be canceled or the buses may be delayed leaving the school in the afternoon. The maxim of the school is to err on the side of caution in questionable cases.
If for any reason students are to stay home, need to be picked up earlier or will arrive home later than expected, parents will be notified by a variety of means:
SMS (Short Messaging System sent to a mobile phone)
FIS website: www.fis.edu
Children up to Grade 5 will be supervised in school until parents have picked up their children or indicated how the situation is to be handled.
To receive emergency messages, your contact details must be up to date.
Parents: Please go to the student information system (Veracross) to ensure that your details are correct and make corrections as necessary. If you require assistance, please contact reception at info@fis.edu to confirm your personal data (address, phone numbers).
Please review the FIS Health Policy on the Parent Portal.
Parent Involvement at FIS
Parent involvement is essential for the many activities that take place at FIS and we welcome your support. In addition to dozens of individual volunteer opportuntieis, FIS has the following parent volunteer groups:

Our REAL (Recreation, Enrichment, and Learning) Activities Program has a wealth of extra-curricular classes for students and adults, taught by FIS teachers and community instructors, allowing participants to meet new friends, learn new skills, and discover new interests. The REAL Program runs three separate terms per year. The Programs throughout the school year are grouped into the below main categories:
Arts Academy
We encourage participants to launch their inner creativity through a wide variety of channels. Class selections can range from cartooning, drawing and painting to cake decorating, and culinary discovery, as well as pottery and woodworking.
Language Academy
We aim to strengthen the language skills of both native and non-native speakers. Classes are designed and delivered by language specialists to support the development of all learners. Languages offered have included French, German, Italian and Spanish.
Performing Arts Academy
We provide students opportunities to express themselves on and off stage whether it be expressing an emotion, embodying a character or creating music. In past years, classes have included dance, drama, filmmaking, guitar and many more.
Sport and Wellness Academy
We are committed to providing opportunities for all to participate in physical and well-being activities to keep their minds and bodies sharp and empower participants to pursue a lifetime of activity. Our classes range from social sport to health and fitness and almost everything in between.
STEM Academy (Science, Tech, Engineering & Mathematics)
STEM classes can be as broad as the acronym. We believe that each activity within the category is an opportunity for our participants to push innovation to the next level, challenging their thinking process by solving problems with creativity. Classes have included design with 3-D technology, science for fun, robotics and coding.
Vacation Camps and Trips
On-campus camps are held during the Fall Break (October), Ski Break (February), and Summer Break (June-August). Additionally, there is a Ski and Snowboard Trip to Austria during Ski Week for Upper School students, as well as a Canoe Trip to Sweden at the end of the school year.
Apart from the termed classes, REAL also offers:
Kids Club-after school childcare
