We invite all new and interested families to a special event on the first day of school. After dropping off your children in classrooms you can join other new families for a presentation on the Primary School in the Primary School Assembly Room. You will be able to ask questions and get information at various booths regarding transportation, food services, technology, REAL (after-school activities), our PTG (Parent Teacher Group), and more. There will be an opportunity to have your photo taken for the FIS Parent ID card. The end of the meeting will coincide with the PS early dismissal at 11:30. We look forward to seeing you there!

Grade-level Parent Information Meetings will be taking place on various dates during the first two weeks of school. Details regarding these events will be shared with families before the first day of school.

Elementary School (FIS Oberursel Campus - FISO)

All new families are invited to a special welcome event on the first day of school. After student drop-off, there will be a presentation/tour of the FIS Elementary School in our Junior Lounge from 8:40 to 9:30. Afterwards, families will be escorted to the Welcome and Information Fair at the Primary School. Parents will be able to ask questions and get information at various booths, including transportation, food services, technology, REAL (after-school activities), our PTG (Parent Teacher Group), and more. There will also be an opportunity to have photos taken for FIS Parent ID cards.

Upper School (FIS Oberursel Campus - FISO)
New Student and Parent Orientation*
This orientation is an opportunity for new families and students to get to know the FIS campus and our community better. Parents and students will start the morning together in the Auditorium to meet with principals, counselors, and year heads to learn more about school-to-home communication and general school procedures. After the initial presentation, parents will remain in the Auditorium while new students meet with counselors and year heads to learn more about the school and to participate in fun activities. Placement testing will take place (if necessary) in the afternoons. Upon arrival, students will receive an individualized testing schedule. A more in-depth overview of the curriculum will be provided later in the school year at divisional parent forums.
*Please note that this orientation is not for parents and students who attended FISO in Grade 5 or are transferring from FISW to FISO.

FISW (Wiesbaden) Campus
New Student and Parent Orientation
New Family Orientation (First Steps - Grade 8) - Friday, 08 August - 9:00-12:00
This orientation provides new families and students with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the FISW campus and community. Parents and students will meet in the Commons to kickstart the morning with school leaders and the counselor to review topics such as general procedures, school-to-home communication, schedules, and upcoming activities. Alongside informative sessions, the morning will feature guided campus tours and chances for families to connect with members of our PTG (Parent Teacher Group). While attendance for students in Grade 5 and below is optional, we kindly request that all Grade 6-8 students make plans to join us.
Please note that a more detailed overview of the curriculum will be provided later in the school year during our Back to School Night.
First Steps (FS) - Grade 5 Open House Friday, 15 August - 9:00-10:00
Parents and students are welcome to visit campus between 9:00-10:00 to informally meet homeroom teachers and new friends in preparation for a smooth transition on the first day of school. Families are welcome to drop off any necessary school supplies at this time.
