The goal of our math program is to engage students with quality work so they will become lifelong learners. We use games, puzzles, books, music, and many "hands-on" materials to support students in solving problems and to experience math in the world around them. We use a variety of math curricula, including Bridges 2.0, Origo, and Box Cars and One-Eyed Jacks, which enables us to support student learning and growth by using visual models and integrating basic math skills along with conceptual understanding.
We also integrate STEM into the mathematics class. STEM is science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Students will have the opportunity to be scientists, technicians, engineers, and mathematicians as they collaborate effectively to ask questions, think critically, and solve problems.
