Courses are pathways that shape a student's journey though secondary school. Both courses (Express and Normal) offer a suite of subjects catering to students’ strengths and interests. Eligible students can transfer between courses, or take certain subjects at a more demanding level through subject-based banding.
Note: For 2024 Secondary 1 students
Starting from the 2024 Secondary 1 cohort, the Normal (Technical), Normal (Academic) and Express courses will be phased out. Under Full Subject-Based Banding (FSBB), students will be posted through Posting Groups 1, 2 and 3 respectively instead and have greater flexibility to offer subjects at appropriate subject levels. Learn more about FSBB here.
