While this course laid some foundational groundwork universally for librarians interested in pursuing academic track careers, to me it was the embodiment of why I continue to strive for academic librarianship. I feel that as I was actively in the role of an academic librarian while completing my course work and degree, which allowed me the opportunity to put the skills we were working on in class to good use in my day to day practices. I enjoyed learning about the publishing process not just for myself but for my fellow faculty members, knowing the process and methodology helps mitigate my internal anxiety should I ever have the platform to publish. Learning should be a life-long pursuit; to be alive should be to learn. The curation of this portfolio increased my overall understanding of both the width and depth of research knowledge; the layers of different student and faculty research and publication needs; and the continued need for cultivation of diversity, inclusion, equity, and library accessibility for both faculty and staff.Â
