Attention Employers/mentors; It's my goal to give as much career exposure as possible to my students. We are always looking for; guest speakers, business tours, 1 day job shadow opportunities, and conference rooms for our Tuesday or wednesday seminar meetings, and ultimately 10 week internships/work experience/Job shadow opportunities for our students. Guest Speaker/Tour times are usually 9:40-10:20 for morning classes class and 1:10-2:10 for the afternoon class
Prohibited work for students under 18
Approved programs allow students to participate in the workforce in otherwise prohibited activities.

Here are the steps to set up an internship with our high school
Contact Mr. Hill with any questions and to set up an initial site visit ehill@fergusotters.org or 218-998-0544 x9631. Here we can discuss what the program requirements are and how we can best make a plan for hosting a student for anywhere from a few days to a full 10 weeks
Meet with the perspective student to discuss the timeline and internship opportunity and decide if it's a good fit for both parties.
Decide if it will be a paid or unpaid internship, sign the required Training Agreement and provide proof of insurance to the school.
Host a monthly visit for in person progress reports, 3 visits per trimester. The first visit we can come up with a training plan together.
Provide weekly feedback via email (usually just a quick response to the weekly newsletter) or a phone call if preferred
