The Fergus Falls Work Based Learning Program is an experiential learning opportunity for students to get real world work experience in the local community. We offer three trimesters of Work Based Learning; fall , winter and spring. The program has a two week orientation class where we discuss; labor laws, career planning, workplace safety, portfolio/resume building and employability skills such as professionalism, goal setting, leadership and communication. Internships may be paid or unpaid depending on the place of employment and training agreement.
Once students are placed at their internships they will work 2 hours per day 4 days/week, Tuesdays or Wednesdays are reserved for seminar class where we will share the week's work experiences and work on various employability skills.
Internships last anywhere from 2 days up to 10 weeks
