TEJO POWER STATION (Central Tejo)

The Tejo Power Station is an harmonious set of buildings, a consequence of successive extensions resulting from the growing electricity consumption during the first half of the twentieth century. It is a unique example of Portuguese industrial architecture, where iron and brick are combined in large vertical spaces, pierced by glass windows that illuminate complex piping systems and machinery.

It preserves the memories of the power station that lit up the city of Lisbon and the workers who gave it life. Evoking the past, the Tejo Power Station is a centre for culture, experimentation, and entertainment that celebrates the energy of the future.

The visit is free of charge.

For those who participate in the pre-visit to Central Tejo, the meeting point is at the main door of Central Tejo at 2:00 p.m. | A member of the organizing committee will be at the meeting point to receive you.
