The FHS Choral Department is an award-winning program comprising approximately 75 students in grades 9-12. Recognized for its commitment to musical excellence, the choir has earned Superior ratings in both performance and sight-reading at Music in the Parks competitions and Music Performance Adjudication (MPA). Located in Franklinton, NC, the Franklinton High School choral program is under the direction of Mr. Cameron McDonald. Mr. McDonald strives to build an enriching and safe learning environment within the choral classroom.
Students of the Franklinton High School Choir Program have participated in the Franklin County Schools' All-County Chorus, the NC All-Eastern Regional Chorus, the ACDA NC Sings! Chorus, the NCMEA NC Honors Chorus, and the NC Military Child Honors Choir.

Mr. Cameron McDonald is a dedicated high school choir director at Franklinton High School, bringing with him a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Methodist University. His exceptional impact on the school community has earned him the honors of Franklinton High School's 2023-2024 Beginning Teacher of the Year and 2026-2027 Teacher of the Year. With a profound commitment to music and education, Mr. McDonald's leadership extends beyond the classroom, where he fosters a supportive and inclusive environment for his students to thrive. As an active member of professional organizations such as the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) and the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), he remains at the forefront of industry trends and best practices. Through his unwavering dedication, Mr. McDonald inspires his students to discover their voices, cultivate their talents, and develop a lifelong appreciation for music and the arts.
