Apply for the Crew!

Want to work behind the scenes of a theatrical production? Apply NOW for a spot on the technical crew.

The BHStage Tech Crew is a rigorous commitment and only serious candidates will be considered for this year's backstage crew. Students interested in working hard and learning about the many opportunities tech crew has to offer should apply. Tech will meet, train, and complete tech demands for the show on TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS from 2:30-5pm after school until we get closer to "tech week" where rehearsals will end later and become more frequent. Leadership roles (denoted below) will require more commitment and may be required to come in on Mondays, Wednesdays, and/or Fridays. Techies must have skills pertaining to time management, self-motivation, collaborating with a team, and leadership skills. Previous experience is not required, but welcome.

Applications Due September 1st

  1. Monday August 31st - N/A

  2. Tuesday September 1st - MANDATORY Crew Meeting/Leadership Interviews.  Students will attend an after-school meeting this day to learn about the responsibilities of the tech crew and submit their paperwork. YOUR HEADSHOT FOR THE PRODUCTION WILL BE TAKEN ON THIS DAY!  Returning crew members NOT interested in leadership will be dismissed by 3:30 pm. Those who have not been in a BHStage show before (those who have been in cast prior will not have to stay) will be required to stay for a "New Member" meeting to explain BHStage crew expectations and will be dismissed by 4:30 pm. All potential crew applicants will meet the Director and Technical Director, and will be evaluated on their response to direction, training, and problem solving. Only those who attend and complete all required documents (Digital Tech Crew Application and physical completed Show Contract) will be considered for the crew. Please note, any students interested in leadership roles (Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager(s), Wingheads, Lead Sound, Lead Lighting, Lead Costumes, Lead Props; all ASM candidates will also be considered for Winghead roles) will need to stay until 4:30 pm for interviews.  Interview does not guarantee the leadership role. *NEW THIS YEAR* NO LEADERSHIP ROLE IS AUTOMATICALLY CHOSEN - ALL MUST RE-INTERVIEW FOR POSITIONS AND ALL ARE WELCOME TO INTERVIEW. Prior experience will be taken into consideration. Further crews will be determined the week before Tech Week. All students - including those in leadership positions - will begin on Build Crew.

  3. Wednesday September 2nd- N/A

  4. Thursday September 3rd- Callbacks! Any students interested in being stage manager or assistant stage manager should attend to help run callbacks.

  5. Friday September 4th- The official crew list will post on the website! Only students who attended required dates, turned in a digital tech crew application, and turned in a signed contract will be added to the crew.

Crew Rehearsals on Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:30-5:00 pm

Leadership will have additional attendance requirements.
