Paying Bills

• Students will navigate paying bills through the Budget Challenge Bank. You may want to demo reviewing invoices, gauging cash flow and paying bills with your class.

Tips

• Encourage students to pay bills early and accurately to avoid penalties. It may be helpful to write down amounts and due dates prior to submitting payments.
• There is a 2-day processing window built into the system for creating checks, Sundays are blocked out.

Strategy

• Utilize Cash Flow Spreadsheet, encourage students to update and reconcile frequently. It's imperative to know how much money you have you in your bank account before writing a check!
