Student apprentices are students who want to gain experience in the workplace and plan to continue in that industry after graduation. If a student is hired through the apprenticeship application, they are employed in paid, part-time positions under the cooperative supervision of the employer/mentor and the Work Based Learning Coordinator and usually work two periods of a school day. Apprentices are responsible for arranging their own transportation. Apprenticeships are open to juniors and seniors and are available for fall, spring and summer start times. Apprenticeships can be scheduled for 1 or 2 weighted credits per semester.
