Leaving the Classroom:
During class, only one student will be permitted to leave the classroom at a time.
Teachers will keep daily records of when a student leaves the classroom using an electronic log the student will complete before exiting the classroom. This measure and information is important as we must monitor and track restroom use and class departures to assist in contact tracing during this pandemic.
Passes will be required for all trips outside of the classroom. There will be no shared hallway passes; sticky notes will be used for passes and students will be directed to throw their pass away when they have completed their trip out of the classroom.
Bathroom Usage:
Maximum capacities have been posted for restrooms.
All restrooms will have this sign posted outside of the entrance. Students will stick their pass on to an empty space as they enter and remove it when they exit the restroom. If the restroom is at maximum capacity, the student should wait quietly in the hallway and maintain appropriate social distancing in the hallway. Students will throw their sticky note away when they return to class.
Bathroom usage will be monitored by staff during class exchanges and lunch to ensure students maintain appropriate social distancing.
Water Fountain Usage:
Water fountains will be open and available to use for the sole purpose of refilling water bottles.
If a student does not have a water bottle, teachers will give the student a paper cup from the supply provided to them. The student will take the cup to the water fountain and dispose of the cup at the trash can located in the hallway near the water fountain.
