Your school-issued tech and Wi-Fi access are tools loaned to you for schoolwork and research, not personal property. Because these resources belong to the school, staff can review internet history, files, and messages to keep the digital environment safe. Ensure that you practice good digital citizenship: keep your passwords to yourself, don't try to bypass web filters, treat others kindly online, and take physical care of your device (such as keeping the case on and avoiding stickers). All of these expectations are broken down in School Board Policies IIBEA-GAB and IIBEA-R. Possible consequences for violations of the Acceptable Use policies are:
Tech Restrictions: You could temporarily or permanently lose your network or device privileges.
Disciplinary Action: Violations can result in school disciplinary consequences or, in severe cases, legal action.
Fines for Damage: You'll be responsible for covering the cost of lost or broken equipment, which means paying $50 for the laptop, $25 for the case, or $25 for the charger if they need to be replaced.
