PDFs for Online Learning

PDFs can be difficult for students to use for online learning. Students cannot edit them and send them back to their teacher. Remember, student Chromebooks cannot print and students might not have access to a printer to print their PDF assignment. We should not be giving students documents to print.

Some PDF recommendations for teachers:

  1. Provide an answer document or form for students to submit their work.

    • Teachers can still use PDFs to deliver the assignment, but students need to either be provided with an answer document or submit a Google Form.

  2. Teachers can create an "Interactive" Google Slide presentation by taking a screenshot of the PDF and adding text boxes. (See directions and videos above.)

  3. Create manipulatives in Google Slides to accompany your PDFs for students to show their work and learning.
