There is no longer a need to download the SPIKE App for SPIKE Essential or SPIKE Prime! Go to spike.legoeducation.com! This is in beta and there aer a few things to note:
Students cannot yet access their programs from the app after use. They can save their programs to their devices and retrieve them later from the saved files.
Hub connections are different for each program. See the slide for those important differences.
Make sure to update the SPIKE App* on your teacher device. If you are using a PC, search for the app in the Microsoft Store. If you have a personal MAC (or PC), go here to download.
*If you are currently using SPIKE App version 1.3.3 or below and are updating via the Windows Installer please first uninstall the SPIKE App on your device before re-installing the latest SPIKE App version. Failure to do so will result in duplicate apps. As of 8/16/2022, version 2.0.7 is available. Contact your STC for download help.
LEGO's PD Platform has many helpful videos from teachers around the nation.
For your own kits, organize them in a way most helpful for your classroom. Use soufflé cups for smaller pieces! Use Press N Seal to cover the tops of the trays. Make sure to have a visible LOST & FOUND for parts found later. Tell your custodian about it, too!
Classroom norms are a must - leave room for take-down and clean-up! Use the Duck Activity to set those norms.
Cleaning kits is important - LEGO provides guidelines.
