Import Edmentum Course into Canvas

Steps to import an FCPS Edmentum course into Canvas

• Go to the Course in Canvas

• Create an assignment

• You won’t actually use this assignment, but give it a file name.

  • Set the Submission type = external tool

  • Find and select ‘Edmentum Courseware’

  • Save & publish the assignment
    
    
    

• Now you have the Edmentum content selection tool

  • Select your cartridge.  NOTE: Please be sure only to select and use an ‘FCPS’ approved Edmentum course.  These courses begin with ‘FCPS’ and have been reviewed and approved by our district curriculum content specialists and are in line with our state curriculum standards.

  • Click the “...” on the right

  • Select POINT grading

  • You do not need to click finish

  • The Edmentum course cartridge file will download with the filename provided for the assignment name
    
    
    

• Now you will need to import the Edmentum course content into Canvas

  • In the course, go to ‘Settings > Import course content’

  • Select ‘Common Cartridge’

  • Choose the Edmentum course cartridge file which was downloaded

  • Do ‘All Content’, then import

  • Go to modules & delete the pre-tests as it is not graded

    • If you move an assignment to another module, the summative assessment will not not update
