Hispanic Culture
In Year 9, students choosing Spanish also take a discrete Hispanic Culture Course for one lesson a week. This provides a fascinating backdrop not only to Spain but also to Latin America, covering Geography, History, Festivals and the Arts.
This unique course does a first-class job at providing a more in-depth cultural knowledge than is ever possible in language lessons alone. As it is taught in English, it is also very accessible to EAL and Learning Support students, as well as anyone joining in Year 9 without a language.
Course materials
The course is taught entirely through electronic media and is based on our own collection of varied resources. It features informative video clips, supported by facts, anecdotes and discussion.

How will I be assessed?
There will be one eChallenge each term, which is a multiple choice test based on knowledge attained.
These tests are timed so that they do not coincide with Spanish language assessments.
