FastBridge

Universal Screener in Math, Reading, and Social-Emotional

Fastbridge math, reading, and social-emotional assessments are administered in fall, winter, and spring to all students K-9 (universal screener).

FAST administration Refresher

Fastbridge does not require teachers to set up test sessions or manage student progress for the online tests (FastTrack Reading and Math and mySABERS). Students log in to access the tests through Clever.

Fastbridge Benchmarks

FastBridge typically updates national norms on a five-year cycle (last done in 2019). Additionally, some districts choose to set their own cut scores. For this reason, be cautious about using other representations of benchmarks that may be posted online. When using norm tables, ensure you are using the most recent norms as published by Fastbridge which can be found in Fastbridge under “Training and Resources.” The following representations of the benchmarks are based on the 2019 benchmarks and updates in 2023 to the 7th-9th grade benchmarks.

FastTrack Reading and FastTrack Math

When we first adopted FAST, all of their tests were separate and they had specific test assignments for each grade. So 4th grade, for example, would have to go into aReading, autoReading, and CBM Reading separately. The problem is that some people missed one or more tests and it was difficult to navigate for kids. The FastBridge solution was to create "FastTrack" as an umbrella that automatically includes all of the recommended tests for each grade level in each season. What is confusing is that FastTrack can include a combination of teacher-administered and computer-administered tests. Below are the measures included in reading and math by each grade level.

K-1: You are still giving earlyReading and earlyMath 1:1. FastTrack gives you a shortcut to get the correct subtests in succession so you don't have to click into each subtest separately. 1st grade teachers will still need to go into CBM for the 1:1 administration in the spring and students will need to go to "more tests" to find aReading when needed.

2-3: When students go in and choose FastTrack reading it only gives them aReading. You as the teacher still need to go into CBM for the 1:1 administration. FastTrack math will give them both CBMmath Automaticity and aMath.

4-5: When students choose FastTrack Reading it gives them both AUTOreading/aReading and in FastTrack Math it will give CBMmath Auto/aMath in the same test session so they don't have to go into two separate tests. You, as the teacher, still need to go into CBM for the 1:1 administration (we request CBM for 4-5 even though it is not recommended, because that is the primary information we use for our intervention decision making and progress monitoring).

6-9: When students choose FastTrack it gives them both AUTOreading/aReading and CBMmath Auto/aMath in the same test session so they don't have to go into two separate tests.

Note: CBMreading is not in the earlyReading FastTrack sequence. You will need to access this test separately.
