All Kindergarten-2nd Grade students will be issued iPads for educational use at school and at home. Students will receive instruction on iPad device care and responsible use with devices at school. After proper instruction is provided, students will begin to take their iPads home so they may complete school assignments. When families register through Powerschool, they will read and sign a Personal Learning Device Take Home Parent-Student Contract which outlines policies and procedures that apply to all students issued devices owned by Fargo Public Schools.

Students will receive instruction on Chromebook device care and responsible use with devices at school. After proper instruction is provided, students will begin to take their Chromebooks home so they may complete school assignments. Device Care & Student Safety
Students should charge the device at home every night and bring it to school (with charger) every day.
Always use the black neoprene carrying case provided by the district.
If the device becomes dirty, please use a damp, soft cloth to clean the outside. Never spray cleaner directly on the device.
There is an internet filter on the device both at school and home, but filters are not perfect. Students should not be online unsupervised.
It is not advisable to let students charge/store the devices in their bedrooms.
Fargo Public Schools Technology Personal Learning Device (PLD) Use Pledge
I will take good care of my assigned PLD.
I will never leave my PLD unattended.
I will never loan my PLD to others.
I will know where my PLD is at all times.
I will charge my PLD’s battery daily.
I will keep food and beverages away from my PLD.
I will not disassemble any part of my PLD or attempt any repairs.
I will use my PLD in ways that are appropriate, meet Fargo Public Schools expectations and are educational.
I will not deface my PLD with non-removable items such as stickers, markers, etc.
I understand that my PLD is subject to inspection at any time without notice and remains the property of the Fargo Public School District.
I will follow the policies outlined in the Parent-Student contract while at school, as well as outside the school day.
I will file a police report and notify the school librarian in case of theft or vandalism.
I will be responsible for all damage caused by neglect or abuse. If the PLD is damaged intentionally, the cost is the full repair or replacement cost.
I agree to return the PLD and power cord in good working condition.
