Game Notes

F&M women's volleyball dropped it first game against Lynchburg Friday evening. However, the Diplomats finished the F&M-LBC Tournament with wins against Eastern (3-2) and Lancaster Bible (3-0) Saturday afternoon.

The Diplomats won the first, third, and fifth set to push past Eastern 3-2. Eastern held a 7-3 lead in the fifth set, however kills from Lauren Arnold and Justine Amory helped the Diplomats even the set at 7-7. From that point, the Diplomats battled to make it a 12-10 score. F&M finished out the set with kills from Amory and Makenna Penuel, and a service ace from Liah Perez to earn the first win of the season. Penuel led F&M in kills with nine. Hannah McCarthy led the team in assists with 19. Perez tallied 16 assists against the Eagles. Arnold recorded two solo blocks in the win.

Franklin & Marshall followed up its victory against Eastern with a 3-0 sweep of Lancaster Bible College. Jada West and Coco Shultz set the tone for the Diplomats with seven kills each in the match. McCarthy tallied four services aces in the victory. Perez finished with 17 assists in match two Saturday.

The Diplomats opened the season against Lynchburg Friday evening in the F&M-LBC Tournament. The Diplomats battled to force a fifth set, where they fell short 15-12. Shultz and Sydney Levins tied for a game-leading 17 kills each in the match. McCarthy and Perez combined for 43 assists in the match. Arnold and Penuel recorded two solo blocks each.
