The Franklin & Marshall women's basketball team (1-4, 0-2 CC) plays three Centennial Conference games this week. The Diplomats host Dickinson (2-2, 1-1 CC) on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. and Bryn Mawr (2-3, 0-2 CC) Thursday at 7:00 p.m. F&M then hits the road to play an away game at Haverford (3-2, 2-0 CC) on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
Before hitting the Thanksgiving break, the Diplomats played a road game at Ursinus, where the Bears came out on top 62-51 Tuesday evening. Kennedy Wilburn led F&M in scoring with 13 points, while also tallying eight rebounds and three steals. F&M cut the score down to a single-digit deficit with three minutes left in regulation, but the Bears managed to close out the game and hold off F&M. Read the full recap here.
Dickinson defeated F&M in both meetings last season. In the most recent game between the programs, the Red Devils won 67-50. Wilburn was the only Diplomat to finish with double-digit scoring figures with 10 points. Kenna Williams '22 recorded seven rebounds, four blocks, and two steals in the loss. The Diplomats haven't beaten the Red Devils since the 2019-20 season, where F&M won 72-57.
F&M swept Bryn Mawr last season, winning 69-29 in December and 69-36 in January. In the 69-36 victory, Natalie Kolb racked up a team-high 13 points while shooting 55.6 percent (5-of-9) from the field and 75 percent (3-of-4) from beyond the arc. Bryn Mawr has not beaten Franklin & Marshall since the 2006-07 season.
The Diplomats look to snap its losing streak to Haverford that stretches back to the 2011-12 season where F&M won 64-51. In the most recent meeting between the programs, the Fords downed the Diplomats 66-45 last season. Williams '22 finished with a double-double as she finished with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Dickinson Team Preview
Dickinson started its season with wins over Moravian and McDaniel. Clair Marion is the Red Devils' leading scorer, averaging 11 points per game while shooting 28.8 percent (15-of-52) from the field and 22.2 percent (4-of-18) from behind the three-point line. Guard Caitlin Blackman is the team's leading three-point specialist, shooting 40 percent (6-of-15) from beyond the arc. Dickinson has allowed 52.3 points per game to opponents, while only tallying 50.8 points per contest.
Bryn Mawr Team Preview
The Owls come into Thursday's game on a three-game losing streak after most recently falling to Muhlenberg 80-27. Bryn Mawr is led by guard Jessica Smith, who averages 15.8 points per game to rank second in the conference. Smith also ranks first in the CC in free total throw attempts with 33 this season
Haverford Team Preview
Haverford opened its 2022-23 conference slate with wins over Dickinson (54-38) and Washington College (56-51). Guard Ally Landau leads the CC in points per game (22.2) and three-pointers per game (3.4) this season. Forward Kayla Robinson leads the conference in rebounds per game, averaging 12.2 boards per contest.
