Race Day Logistics and Guidance
Race Day logistics:
· Head Timer will determine when race line-ups are due
· It is imperative that ALL racers to know their start position (either wave row or individual start time) - this will limit officials/athlete interaction AND protect the officials & Athletes
o Wave start orders are published and sent to coaches well in advance of a race
o NO start orders will be posted at the venue ( to avoid any chance of group gathering)
o Race officials will have start order lists to assist them with the starts
o It is the responsibility of coaches to ensure athletes use their assigned bibs
o It is the responsibility of coaches to ensure athletes to know their start order
o During COVID times it is essential to limit contact between officials and athletes
· Designated areas / ski racks will be provided for each team cohort to place ski bags, for warm up, for after race time
· Racers must have a mask / face covering on their person at ALL times
o During warm up – skier may remove mask if intolerable for active skiing
o Racers will wear a mask lining up at the start line
o Skier will wear mask till 30/15 sec before start
o Skier may remove mask during the 30sec to their start
o The ski racer must bring their mask for immediate re-application at the finish line after a reasonable recovery time
o Skiers will not be allowed to linger in the finish area beyond a reasonable recovery time
o Skiers must return to their Cohort designated area as soon as possible after finishing
o Skiers, masked-up at all times, may group within their cohort to cheer team racers,
o Skiers, masked-up at all times, are NOT allowed to ski on course during a race but may walk out on course while remaining within their cohort
o For shelter and warmth skiers will return to their bus
